Four Fantastic Fabric Flowers!!!!

Four Fantastic Fabric Flowers!!!!

Sense I have all this time at home lately. I have tried to keep myself busy with crafts and what not. I Bought fabric last time i had extra cash, plus i picked up a bag of scraps from a lady in town for a few bucks. So i could keep myself busy. So here is my walk through on how to make these flowers....

Fabric flower #1
Basically flowers 1 and 2 are the same except i few minor details

step one: cut 5 circles out of your fabric. I just traced a small playdoh container and cut that out. ( This step is the same in all 4 flowers)

Step 2: fold your first circle in half like this.( This step is the same in all 4 flowers)

Step 3: Fold it in half again. So it looks like this.

Step 4: Thread your needle through the bottom. Just like above. The trick is to have all of your peddles start and end the same way. If you start on the right side (the open end) do that on all of them ect.

Step 5: this is what it should look like once you slide it off your needle.

Step 6: Repeat steps 1-5 for all 5 circles :)

Step 7: Push them all toward the end of your thread so you can tie your knots.

Step 8: Now it is important to tie it tight but not so tight that the string breaks or you cant slightly move the pedals.

Step 9: Even out the pedals.

Step 10: pick out the side you like the most.

Flower #2

For steps 1&2 see flower 1
Step 3: In this step it is slightly different sense you don't fold it a second time, like on flower # 1. Thread along the curved end and then pull tight together.

Step 4: This is what it should look like pulled tight together.

Step 5:  Repeat steps 1-4 on all 5 pedals.

Step 6: Tie three knots. This process is done the same as flower #1

Step 7: pick the side that looks the best for your front.

Flowers #3 and # 4

Step 1&2 is the same as flower #1
Step 3: This is a bit tricky without actually showing you. Basically you tuck in both sides

So it looks like this.

Step 4: Ok in this step the trick is to make sure you go through all the layers like this.

Step 5: Repeat steps 1-4 till all 5 of your pedals are strung on like this.

Step 6: pull them tight, and tie it like you did for the flowers #1 and #2

Step 7: For flower # 3 it is all prepped.

Step 7: For flower #4 is flatten like this.

Okay so to finish flowers #1 and #2 I put them on bobby pins like this.... Small drop of hot glue in the center on the side that is your back.

Then push in your bobby pin.

Then put a small piece of fabric over it. Flip it over and put a bead or a button in the center. Then its ready for your hair.

For flower #3 you open up the bottom a little bit like this.

Add a drop of hot glue.

Then stick in your bobby pin.

I push the bottom of the flower on the bobby pin and your done.

For flower #4 after you flatten it flip it over. The ugly side is where you put your dot of hot glue.

Put your bobby pin on top and cover with fabric.

The center doesnt look so pretty but this is what it looks like flipped over.

Add a button (in my case a bead) to the center and your all done!
I really hope you enjoyed learning how to make these flowers. I know at my home I have about 50 ready for my hair in every color and size! Please leave any questions or comments below :)

Old Book Decorative Flower

This is a craft i came up with when someone gave me 4 huge boxes of books. I don't really enjoy reading, so i put on my thinking cap and this is what came out of it.

You will need:
35-45 pages of an old book
7-10 12x12 scrapbook pages (5 different prints)
something for the center
hot glue
regular elmers glue

In this tutorial I will be making a 9x5 flower

step 1
Take 9 pages from the book. Cut out a flower peddle from edge to edge. I just eyeballed it.

step 2

Get 2 pages of scrapbook paper (the same print). then trace the outline of your peddle and cut about a 1/4 inch in from that out line. Then trace that piece 9 times, then cut them all out.

step 3

Then use the elmers glue and line them up like this and glue all 9 pieces together.

step 4

Grab an additional 9 pages and start on the next layer. I trace the outline of the last colored piece onto the book pages and cut in about 1/4 inch in.

step 5

Repeat step 2-4 to complete all 5 sets of peddles. each peddle set getting smaller and smaller

step 6

layout your flowers to be glued. then use your hot glue gun and use a small line of glue near the center of the flower to glue together each peddle.

step 7

Repeat step 6 till all are complete.

yes i know this one only has 7. I have no idea what happened lol.

step 8

Time to layer those flowers. Using hot glue put a glob in the middle and start to stack them each turned slightly to show the one behind.

step 9

Add your center piece. This one has a small sand dollar. We live by the beach and love to pick them up while we are there.

Your flower is complete. Here are a few others I have done and how they are displayed in my home. Hope you liked it. If you have any questions please comment and i'll be happy to answer them :)
